Getting here & Arrival Details

Getting Here

You will be arriving by ferry unless you have your own boat, or come by air. Use the link below for schedules.

From the Mainland, your sailing will depart from Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. Reservations are strongly recommended.

From Vancouver Island your ferry will depart from Swartz Bay. Reservations are not taken on this route.

Here’s where to find us when you arrive at Sturdies Bay on Galiano Island:

Driftwood Village is 2 kilometres from the ferry terminal. Take Burrill Road. You will find us at the foot of Bluff Road.

When you arrive…

If you haven’t already been in touch, give us a call from the phone in the kiosk office in the main parking lot, and we will let you know if your cottage is ready for you.

Because there are dead zones on the island (although our area is pretty good), you may find it convenient to use texting during your stay as a reliable way to communicate any requests or questions you may have.

Every cottage has its own wifi code which is posted inside the cottage (and just for clarity, if it looks like a zero, it is a zero, not an “o”).

Our water is from a well and is safe to drink, but not to everyone’s taste. I would suggest picking up some bottled water at any food store on island (it makes better coffee).

Because Galiano is a small island we are on a septic system, and our water is from a well. We ask that these systems be treated with mindfulness.

You are welcome to bring your own gas barbecue. No charcoal briquettes please.

We ask you to take your recyclables back with you.
We practice composting; feel free to ask for containers.

We consider the hours between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am to be “quiet time“.

If during your stay you find you need anything, please ask us and we will do our best to help you.
